Although many of us live in multicultural societies, for many Christmas tends to be the focal celebration point in the calendar in NZ. When the clock ticks over to 1 December the tinsel and Christmas trees are dusted off and discussions about Secret Santa start.

In the 2018 census (New Zealand) 48% of the population identified as non-religious making ‘no religion’ the biggest belief group in NZ. The decline could be the result of our expanding religious views with 20,000 put Jedi as their religion and 4,000 opting to belong to the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

Perhaps though, you don’t see it as a religious holiday but as a chance to celebrate the year and say thanks. How does your organisation celebrate Christmas - Is it an opportunity to recognise the uniqueness of your organisational culture, align with your values and celebrate the diversity of your people? Or maybe you’re like me, no office, but thankfully we have the Konnector Xmas party to network and/or celebrate. Maybe see you there.
