Do you talent hoard? Maybe, but you'll never admit it.

If you are a manager that hoards talent, you hold on to your key talent, you don't share them with anyone. You keep them so you look good.

The downside is that the talent will probably leave, not just your team, but the organisation. Ask yourself whether your motivation to keep your talent is based on what's best for your team, or what's best for the organisation.

Perhaps you can change you view, see your self as a launching pad for talent. In time, talent will be attracted to work for you knowing you will be an advocate for them. Often managers will say, 'they aren't quite ready yet' - your people are more ready than you know, and you'll never really know until you give them a chance to prove it.
