‘Dead bodies’ – the thieves of your ‘good culture’ They often make their own rules, undermine camaraderie and consensus, shift blame and make excuses, lack initiative and lack enthusiasm.


This is problematic because when people aren’t at their best the organisation can’t be at its best. Most of us have probably worked with them, worked around them or done our best of avoid them.


What can you do?

1) Have a conversation – leader to talk less, assume less - ask more questions and really pay attention to what they’re saying

2) What needs to happen next? An action plan - both (this is key word) people need to: • create – agree the way forward • commit – be all in • contribute – their own to-do list

3) Check in and monitor progress


It’s not always this simple, but sometimes it can be.
